Study Programmes 2024-2025
ARJP3052-1
DAO CAO 3D
Duration :
48h Th
Number of credits :
Bachelier en architecture des jardins et du paysage (P)4
Lecturer :
Jean François Dejonghe
Language(s) of instruction :
French language
Organisation and examination :
Teaching in the first semester, review in January
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite :
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents :
Creating a simple to complex 3D model using Autodesk AutoCAD and Trimble SketchUp software. Rendering the model in Twinmotion and/or Lumion.
These 3D models calculate synthetic images in real time or recorded, synthesized images or graphics to photorealistic character.
The idea is to allow students to tackle a new phase of design and presentation by making use of 3D tools for modeling their projects and achievements especially created as part of other courses of training.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
At the end of this course, students will be able to implement the following features in software:
AutoCAD - 3D
  • Solid modeling tools and surfaces,
  • transactions solids and surfaces (Boolean operation),
  • Creating and applying materials and textures,
  • Creation of point light sources and directed,
  • Heliodon and geolocation,
  • Calculation of a synthetic image
SketchUp + Twinmotion/Lumion
  • Basics of 3D modeling with SketchUp modeling tools / model,
  • modification,
  • Views,
  • Styles,
  • Materials (use and creation),
  • Groups and Components,
  • Sandbox (field modeler),
  • Creating scenes,
  • Exports 2D, 3D and video,
  • Export to Graphics Rendering Engine Twinmotion/Lumion,
  • Rendering manipulations Bases in Twinmotion/Lumion
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
ARJP0023-1 Design and draw a concept in 2D by hand or using a CAD-CAD software (AutoCAD).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Lectures, demonstrations and situations problems, work independently and personal production on the part of the student.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning) :
Face-to-face
Recommended or required readings :
AutoCAD 2018 conception, dessin 2D et 3D, présentation
Auteur(s) : Olivier Le Frapper, Jean-Yves Gouez Editeur(s) : Eni Collection : Atrium
Nombre de pages : 850 pages Date de parution : 11/10/2017 EAN13 : 9782409009754
Assessment methods and criteria :
Continuous assessment and presentation of work done in class or at home.
The evaluation criteria relate to the acquisition of modeling and reporting tools and their integration in situations of increasing difficulty.
The active and intelligent participation and investment in the course, as well as the presence in all practical application sessions are entering criteria into account in the assessment.
The positive and constant progress is also considered in the evaluation.
Unless otherwise stated, document submissions are made only via the Moodle platform. Any file not submitted outside the conditions set will not be taken into account. The same applies to late filings.
Work placement(s) :
Organizational remarks :
